The Citaro in the Guinnes Book of Records. The biggest ambulance in the world goes to Dubai.

Its capacity to transport 123 people and its overall length of 20.03 metres have secured the largest ambulance in the world – a large – capacity emergency ambulance based on the Mercedes-Benz Citaro articulated bus - a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Stuttgart/Dubai – Mercedes-Benz has received the "Best Bus" award for the fourth year in succession. The award has been presented since 2007 by the Munich-based magazine "Busfahrer" ("Bus Driver"). More than 1000 drivers took part in the readers’ poll.

Stuttgart/Dubai – Daimler Buses has received an order for 260 Mercedes-Benz Citaro urban buses from the emirate of Dubai. The production start for the buses ordered is scheduled for the first quarter of 2009. The Roads & Transport Authority in Dubai which is responsible for the local public transport already has 80 Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses in operation. The order includes a supplementary multi-year service and maintenance agreement.

"Nurse, scalpel, please!" is a request that in future might be heard, not just in a hospital operating theatre, but also in one of the three new large-capacity emergency ambulances delivered to the Centre of Ambulance Services of the Government of Dubai. Because in Dubai, the hospital now goes to the injured.
